Paragraph Styles Drop Caps Tab

As you can see, there are several options available for drop caps in OpenOffice.org. You can adjust the number of letters that are dropped (or you can drop the whole first word), the spacing from the drop cap to the rest of the text, the number of lines that are dropped, and the character style of the drop cap.
