I can’t think of a better way to rock than to put on some Sleeping Body and listen to the slamming crunchy chaos that ensues.
I don’t actually remember how I got into Sleeping Body. I think it was just that their 7″ was on Vermin Scum, and I thought I would try it out. That and they were on a flexi compilation that I had, and the song on there was pretty good. And that’s what you get here in the Logogram + 1 download: four songs from the Logogram 7″ and one from the Four Bands I Like flexi comp.
As a side note, one of the things I remember about these guys is one of the In/Humanity guys telling me that he thought that the Folk Songs demo was some lost Sleeping Body recordings. I don’t quite see the resemblance, but it was still somewhat flattering since I think Sleeping Body rocks.
If you don’t feel like rocking, and instead want to get into some funky old punk stuff, you can check out the two Profax EPs below. I first heard these guys on the Give Me Back compilation, but it wasn’t for a long time before I actually found the first 7″. Enjoy!
- Living Without Cruelty
- Ready to Fail
- Is it Cool to be Cool?
- Blind of Talk
- Beyond
- Joe
- Presque Gentil
- Bona Fide
- Chiste Malo
You can hear some more Profax on the Share Common Ground compilation and the Give Me Back compilation.

I'm always getting Sleeping Body mixed up with Sinking Body.
Thanks for the Profax! I've only heard the song on the Give Me Back comp. But my ol' friend Marianne was in that band, and I was supposed to hear more.
No problem. The Profax songs on the Give Me Back comp was really what got me interested in them, and it's still my favorite Profax stuff. The first EP is fine, but I find it a bit too “typical” hardcore, unlike the funky minimal sound of the Give Me Back songs and the second EP.
